Notre Dame
Notre Dame is considered Public Domain. Great info page on the Internet on it. It is in every high school's band portfolio. Raised a Newkirk, it was played there. Spent 25 years in Anadarko, graduated 4 kids, all in the band, and they used Notre Dame for everything
During high school graduation, Pomp and Circumstances was used as the seniors took their place up front. After graduation, they exited with this song, and as the students walked out, the band speeds up, withe last student goes the overdrive of this song. It is an incredible song. I need to listen to it closely to see if there really is a sharp or flat in it. Sharp, going up; flat going down.
I love playing it. It's beyond awesome. Here is the page on the Internet to check it out. I would have bet that it wasn't Public Domain, so I figured I could screw around with it and put it on one of my blogs. So, ... here it is.

The Streets of Laredo (Dog and Harp Special)
This is, yet another public domain song. It is possible that Johnny Cash put the words to it. I'll post it one of these days, if I find out that it is true. Personally, I love the tune and so does Sassie. In the long run, I will probably memorize the words to this song and include it as one of the songs in my reportoire.
It is a bit complex. No easy chorus that follows the verses. The chorus changes to a different tune. Remember, ... again, I am using a cheap American Ace Harmonica from Hohner which has been jobbed out to China.
To hear this song go here.

The Lyrics are way too many to put down here, but it would be a disservice to pull the reader/explorer to give reason not (NOT) to go to the site listed above. It is worth it. Sassie and performing the song in the Key of C. Ace Harmonicas only come in two keys C and G, but for $2.50, there should be no one complaining. Have fun.

Hail To The Chief, President George W. Bush
As any good, full blooded American, even Sassie Raye-Joplin has a huge streak of patriotism. This is a variation of the melody from Hail To The Chief, done on a diatonic harp in the key of G. This is a must, inclusion for anyone who is collecting momentos of the greatest modern president of our time, HAIL! George DUBYA Bush. This man has killed more people on his own than any active serial killer in the United States today. So, ... here it is, improvised by the greatest Blues Dog in the land.
